How is the score calculated?
Offense (25%): neutral-or-better type coverage and strongest attacking base stats. Defense (30%): team resistances, unprotected and repeated weaknesses, and 4× vulnerabilities. Coverage (25%): fraction of 18 single-type targets hit super effectively by your own types. Synergy (20%): teammates resisting each other’s weaknesses, physical/special/bulk stat signals and base Speed ≥100. Scores are rounded to 0–100; the total uses the displayed subscores.
Rating bands: Excellent ≥80, Good ≥65, Fair ≥45, Poor below 45. An empty team has no rating.
Small teams are provisional and are not given a separate completion bonus. Adding a Pokémon can lower the score if it creates new weaknesses or lowers averages. These initial heuristics have not been calibrated against battle outcomes.

How team weaknesses work
For each attacking type, the calculator multiplies its effectiveness against each defender’s types. Charizard’s Fire/Flying typing takes 4× damage from Rock; a Ground attack cannot hit a Flying type by typing alone. A teammate that resists a shared weakness can give you a switching option.
What the matrix means
Each column is one teammate. Each row is an incoming attack type. Values above 1× show weakness; values below 1× show resistance. 0× means type immunity. The Weak and Resist columns summarize your team, with immunities included in resistance counts.
Limits of type-only analysis
Abilities such as Levitate, held items, weather, moves and Terastallization can change actual damage. This calculator does not apply them. Use the output as a starting point for a casual team, rather than a battle simulation.
