Fill your empty slots first. Each candidate is scored using the same rules as your current team. Only positive score changes are shown.

Suggestions optimize this initial planning heuristic. Your preferences and actual battle strategy may favor another Pokémon.

    Key insights
    • Add your first Pokémon to see its strengths and weaknesses.
    How is the score calculated?

Offense (25%): neutral-or-better type coverage and strongest attacking base stats. Defense (30%): team resistances, unprotected and repeated weaknesses, and 4× vulnerabilities. Coverage (25%): fraction of 18 single-type targets hit super effectively by your own types. Synergy (20%): teammates resisting each other’s weaknesses, physical/special/bulk stat signals and base Speed ≥100. Scores are rounded to 0–100; the total uses the displayed subscores.

Rating bands: Excellent ≥80, Good ≥65, Fair ≥45, Poor below 45. An empty team has no rating.

Small teams are provisional and are not given a separate completion bonus. Adding a Pokémon can lower the score if it creates new weaknesses or lowers averages. These initial heuristics have not been calibrated against battle outcomes.

    Frequently asked questions

Does the score predict battle results?

No. It is an explainable planning heuristic based on typing and base stats. It does not model moves, abilities, items, EVs, IVs, battle turns or opponent teams.

Which Pokémon and rules are supported?

The casual Generation 9 National Dex pool includes 1,025 base species. Alternate forms are not yet included. This is not a validator for VGC, Scarlet/Violet availability, ranked play or a Showdown competitive format.

Can I save or share my team?

Use Share team to copy a link. The link preserves all six slots and the selected format, including empty slots. No account is required.

Why can adding a Pokémon lower my score?

Another teammate can introduce repeated weaknesses or reduce average attacking stats. The score does not award points just for filling slots. Incomplete teams are labeled provisional.
