Key risk. Fairy attacks deal 4× damage and Fairy types ignore Dragon Pulse. Ice, Fighting, Bug and Dragon attacks also threaten it. Effects such as Mold Breaker can bypass Levitate.
This editorial starting point is not a ranked-format recommendation or a legality check. It does not specify EVs or Tera type. Moves, items and abilities here do not change the builder score.
BATTLE PLAN
Levitate normally provides Ground immunity. Find a safe Nasty Plot turn before attacking; Flamethrower offers coverage against Steel targets that resist Dragon Pulse.
Dragon Pulse cannot touch it and Flamethrower is only neutral, so this set has no move that breaks a Fairy switch-in. Keep a teammate for that matchup instead of spending the Nasty Plot turn on it.
Ground does not hit Hydreigon hard even without the immunity — the ability is about what Hydreigon can safely switch into, not a hole being plugged in its defenses.
Use Nasty Plot for the +2 Special Attack raise, then remember the stages are lost when Hydreigon switches out. Bug, Dragon, Fighting and Ice all hit it for 2×, so a boosted position is not an invincible one.
A teammate uses a switching move to bring Hydreigon in. A slower pivot may take the opponent’s hit first. Turn order and the opponent’s move still matter.
ITEM & ABILITY
Levitate makes Ground moves miss, which is what buys Hydreigon a Nasty Plot turn against them — but effects that ignore abilities take that immunity away. Fairy attacks deal 4×, and a Fairy type ignores Dragon Pulse entirely.
Watch the tradeoff. Fairy attacks deal 4× damage and Fairy types ignore Dragon Pulse. Ice, Fighting, Bug and Dragon attacks also threaten it. Effects such as Mold Breaker can bypass Levitate.

Against single-type targets, using only same-type attacks. This is not coverage against every dual-type species.
Offense (25%): neutral-or-better type coverage and strongest attacking base stats. Defense (30%): team resistances, unprotected and repeated weaknesses, and 4× vulnerabilities. Coverage (25%): fraction of 18 single-type targets hit super effectively by your own types. Synergy (20%): teammates resisting each other’s weaknesses, physical/special/bulk stat signals and base Speed ≥100. Scores are rounded to 0–100; the total uses the displayed subscores.
Rating bands: Excellent ≥80, Good ≥65, Fair ≥45, Poor below 45. An empty team has no rating.
Small teams are provisional and are not given a separate completion bonus. Adding a Pokémon can lower the score if it creates new weaknesses or lowers averages. These initial heuristics have not been calibrated against battle outcomes.
