Key risk. Dark targets ignore Prankster-boosted Thunder Wave, and Ground and Electric targets are immune to paralysis from it. Prankster does not boost Foul Play priority. Fire and Ground attacks threaten Klefki.

BATTLE PLAN
Set the screen that matches the opposing attacker. Light Clay extends screen duration; Prankster gives priority to the status moves in this example. Foul Play uses the target’s Attack stat.
Ground types are immune to Thunder Wave and Electric types cannot be paralyzed, and a Dark type ignores the priority status move — three separate ways the key turn simply does not land.
Foul Play reads the target’s Attack rather than Klefki’s, so it scales with the threat instead of the stats, while Reflect halves the same incoming damage for the whole team. The two are answers to different problems.
Light Clay extends Reflect and Light Screen to eight turns, and the screen still only halves the damage category it covers — Fire and Ground each deal 2× to Klefki and are the two types that decide which screen is worth the turn.
A teammate uses a switching move to bring Klefki in. A slower pivot may take the opponent’s hit first. Turn order and the opponent’s move still matter.
ITEM & ABILITY
Prankster gives Reflect, Light Screen and Thunder Wave priority, and Steel plus Fairy gives two immunities — Poison and Dragon. Foul Play then uses the target’s own Attack stat, which is how a screen setter with no offensive boost still punishes a physical sweeper.
Watch the tradeoff. Dark targets ignore Prankster-boosted Thunder Wave, and Ground and Electric targets are immune to paralysis from it. Prankster does not boost Foul Play priority. Fire and Ground attacks threaten Klefki.

A Flying teammate covers Ground attacks. A Water partner resists Fire; add damage so the team can use its screen turns.
Immune to Ground and resists Fire; can set up with Dragon Dance.
Resists Fire and provides recovery plus special attacking options.

Against single-type targets, using only same-type attacks. This is not coverage against every dual-type species.
Offense (25%): neutral-or-better type coverage and strongest attacking base stats. Defense (30%): team resistances, unprotected and repeated weaknesses, and 4× vulnerabilities. Coverage (25%): fraction of 18 single-type targets hit super effectively by your own types. Synergy (20%): teammates resisting each other’s weaknesses, physical/special/bulk stat signals and base Speed ≥100. Scores are rounded to 0–100; the total uses the displayed subscores.
Rating bands: Excellent ≥80, Good ≥65, Fair ≥45, Poor below 45. An empty team has no rating.
Small teams are provisional and are not given a separate completion bonus. Adding a Pokémon can lower the score if it creates new weaknesses or lowers averages. These initial heuristics have not been calibrated against battle outcomes.
